As noted before, I’m behind on my reviews, just now touching on the delightful chocolates I picked up at the Beverly Hills Teuscher boutique in February. I have, at least, finished writing about the bars I got there. Now, I must, yes must, discuss that beautiful red box filled with truffles.
They’re all worthy of discussion, but first, I’ll go over the cinnamon truffle, which will likely not be available again until the November/December holidays.
I do this to torture you. Do you want a Teuscher cinnamon truffle? No. You can’t have one. Not for MONTHS.
But neither can I. And now I’m more upset than you. Damn. In the meantime, I can reminisce about the subtle cinnamon aroma of this truffle.
The interior is soft and creamy, with the cinnamon flavor following the chocolate flavor. The cinnamon itself is more of a sweet cinnamon than a spicy cinnamon, and is well-balanced with the chocolate, as neither is dominant. The shell, which features an earthy flavor, adds complexity but is unfortunately just a bit too thick for the soft interior, and some flaking is almost inevitable.
The flavor is still incredible. And worth picking up a few stray bits of chocolate. Sadly…no more of these until the late fall.
Are there any limited-edition chocolates that you miss in the springtime?
