Chocolate Brownies
1/2 cup butter
4 oz. baking chocolate (4 squares)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1-1/4 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 c chopped nuts
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter; remove from heat.
- Stir in chocolate. Cool completely.
- In a small mixer bowl, beat eggs and vanilla. Gradually add sugar, beating until pale yellow.
- Blend in chocolate mixture.
- Gradually add flour and salt.
- Stir in nuts. Spread in a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until done.
- Cool completely in pan. Cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 16 chocolate brownies.
4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
3/4 cup butter
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1-1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Butter a 12"x8" pan.
Melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring constantly; or melt in microwave bowl, HIGH for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Set aside.
In large bowl, cream sugar and eggs about 5-6 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Fold chocolate, flour, and nuts into sugar mixture; sitr until well blended.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 25-35 minutes. Cool. Frost with your favorite frosting. Refrigerate about 1 hour; cut into chocolate brownies squares. Garnish with pecans if desired. Store in refrigerator.
